This was posted on another site. I thought it was a good idea to use this instead of the straps that come with the trail camera.

 

A lot of you may be familiar with this method. Others new to hunting and the forums may not be, so I just wanted to share, as its very cheap, effective, and simple to do.

I'm not sure I would recommend that for WMA's/Public land hunts. I try and hide my cameras as much as possible on WMA.

However I just might make one, just in case. I like the post mount.

With this type of mount you can mount about 10 ft in the air and point down most people would never see it. I made 2 this morning and spent $9.12. at Lowes
